The Sundealers originate from Wuppertal (Germany) and consist of leadsinger Tom Berger, guitarist Ron Kluge, bassman Ed Bruekmann, drummer Chris Zoellner and multimedia-artist Sascha Stiefelin. Their genre lies somewhere in between alternative rock and gothic / industrial.
This CD is the bonus CD from their album Tears, Love, Religion is made up of six songs, of which (the last) 3 are remixes.

The first song on this album, Gun Crazy, has a good beat and a solid guitar, although the lyrics remain somewhat weak. As the second and third song, it sounds very much like mainstream rock, without anything special added to it.
It is not untill the 4th song where we can spot the first bit of electro, whilst later it seems to resemble the style of Marilyn Manson more then anything else. Once again not a bad song, but no masterpiece either.
In song 5, Down Again I found myself treated, finally, to a very nice surprise. A dark ballad, guided by a solid beat, brings a emotional and haunted element into the album.
The last song Gun Crazy (the remix) reminded me of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. This fact is not surprising when one takes into consideration that the album was made in the care of the label 'Something to listen to', owned by top-producer John Fryer (Nine Inch Nails; HIM; Depeche Mode).

Personally, I'm not a big fan of putting two versions of the songs on a disc which only contained six songs to begin with, but in this case I would be willing to make an exception (and not only because it is a bonus CD). The remixes actually add a quality to the tracks, whereas the final remix brings the cd together as a whole.

The bonus disc in itself is solid enough, but does not quite possess enough quality to ba able to stand alone. It did, however, make me curious about more material from the Sundealers.
